RNC Members Ulrich and Little Endorse Blackwell

The Washington Times reported this morning that our campaign to rebuild the Republican Party continues to gain steam.  The response from the announcement yesterday that Tina Benkiser and I are teaming up has been nothing short of phenomenal.

We believe that we are offering the membership a leadership team that complements each others’ strengths very well.  Tina has the experience in running a state party organization in one of our largest states, and knows what the RNC needs to do to help you succeed.

Today we are very pleased to announce that Republican National Committeeman Ross Little from Louisiana and Republican National Committeewoman Ruth Ulrich from Louisiana have endorsed our ticket.  Please take a moment to read their letter below.

I am currently traveling the country to meet with members such as you.  I am in the northeast today and tomorrow and will be heading out west later in the week.  Please contact me if you have time to talk over the phone, or meet in person, about our plans to rebuild the Republican Party.  Also, if you have a chance, please consider reading this piece I wrote for National Review about the nomination of Eric Holder for Attorney General.

Dear RNC Member,

In this challenging time for our Party, it is exciting to see the quality of leaders who have stepped forward.  We have watched the race for RNC Chairman closely, and we have carefully considered each of the candidates.

Each candidate brings a unique perspective on the direction for our Party, but after thoughtful deliberation, we have decided to  support Ken Blackwell for Chairman of the RNC.

The characteristics we sought, and feel Ken Blackwell best exemplifies are:

Core commitment to the foundational principles of Reagan Conservatism

President Reagan built the foundation of our success by uniting a coalition of fiscal, social, and national security conservatives. Ken Blackwell is a full spectrum conservative who has championed the ideals of limited government, traditional values and a strong national defense.

Clarity and strength in communicating the ideas of the Republican Party

Ken Blackwell’s acumen as a spokesman has been documented extensively. His ability to clearly articulate how Republican principles affect daily life is critical in connecting to voters.  Ken offers a reasonable conservative voice to express the ideas of our Party and the value of our principles.

Desire to build the Party from the grassroots up; utilizing expertise from RNC Members

Our principles are universal, but our elections are local, and Ken Blackwell is committed to taking advantage of the institutional knowledge and expertise of RNC Members in each of our states to develop coordinated, but adaptable, strategies to win elections at all levels. He has teamed up with Tina Benkiser, Chairman of the Republican Party of Texas, and plans to emphasize RNC Members rather than consultants in the running of the national committee.

Experience to navigate election process battles and the upcoming fight over redistricting

As a Secretary of State, Ken Blackwell has been on the frontlines of our efforts to maintain the integrity of the election process. In an age of recounts and challenges, this experience is more important than ever.  In addition, Ken Blackwell is the candidate with the experience to navigate the treacherous redistricting battle ahead.

Ken is more than a manager, a spokesman, or a fundraiser; he is a comprehensive leader.  We hope you will join us in supporting Ken Blackwell.

Ruth Ulrich, National Committeewoman, Louisiana

W. Ross Little, Jr., National Committeeman, Louisiana
