According to news reports, this particular subject was brought up during a chat between Mayorkas and Immigration and Customs Enforcement staffers.

You know, this is going to cause a lot of uproar among the hardcore liberals in the country, as they feel that building a wall is racist. Because if you ascribe to their worldview, everything is racist. And that’s not hyperbole.

When asked about his plans for the wall, Mayorkas told staffers that while President Joe Biden has issued a stop on construction, “that leaves room to make decisions” on finishing some “gaps in the wall,” the Washington Times reported.

Citing notes of the ICE session that it had reviewed, the news outlet reported Customs and Border Protection, which oversees the wall, has submitted a plan for what it wants to see happen moving forward.

“It’s not a single answer to a single question. There are different projects that the chief of the Border Patrol has presented and the acting commissioner of CBP presented to me,” Mayorkas told the ICE staffers, the Washington Times reported.

“The president has communicated quite clearly his decision that the emergency that triggered the devotion of [Department of Defense] funds to the construction of the border wall is ended. But that leaves room to make decisions as the administration, as part of the administration, in particular areas of the wall that need renovation, particular projects that need to be finished,” Mayorkas stated.

Mayorkas then went on to say those parts include “gaps,” “gates,” and areas “where the wall has been completed but the technology has not been implemented.”

If the Biden administration hadn’t been so hell bent on appeasing the base and removing all of the former president’s immigration policies, not only would the wall be much more complete, but we wouldn’t be having the current crisis we’re experiencing either.

But this is likely some sort of spin on the situation and nothing more. We all know that the liberals want illegals to come here so they can pad their voter rolls.
