Rep. Ferguson Says Speaker Pelosi ‘Showed Her Hand’ When She Rejected Republican Picks

According to Rep. Drew Ferguson, Speaker Nancy Pelosi “showed her hand” when she decided to reject two of the five GOP members that had been chosen by House Minority Leader Kevin McCarthy to serve on the select committee looking into the events that transpired on Jan. 6 at the Capitol building.

“It’s really not about getting to the truth,” the Georgia Republican went on to say during his interview on Newsmax’s “Wake Up America.” “We have incredible members that have served in the military and law enforcement, that have been on the front lines of defending freedom, and she is denying them the chance to find the truth.”

McCarthy, R-Calif., pulled all his picks for the commission off the commission after Pelosi rejected Reps. Jim Jordan of Ohio and Jim Banks of Indiana based on statements the two Trump allies had made and actions they’d taken.

Rep. Liz Cheney, R-Wyo., remains the only Republican on the commission, but she was picked by Pelosi, not McCarthy, and has remained a vocal opponent of Trump’s.

Ferguson said McCarthy is “exactly right” to call Pelosi out for rejecting his picks, and to say that Republicans will not participate “in what has obviously become a political hack job on the former president and House Republicans.”

Ferguson then stated that the House Speaker’s choice to deny these Republicans their spots on the commission also makes you wonder “what she’s afraid of.” He then pointed out that McCarthy stated during the presser that “we would use our own side to go seek the truth” about what happened on Jan. 6, and he is in full support of that move.

There definitely seems to be something that is eating at Pelosi. Perhaps that has to do with her delay in contacting and approving the help of the National Guard at the Capitol building? Guess we’ll have to wait until a full, thorough, and balanced investigation is conducted before we know for sure.
