As Russia, under the leadership of President Vladimir Putin carries out his nation’s invasion of Ukraine, there has been a lot of speculation about the possibility of the country posing a nuclear threat.
This comes from comments that Putin made during his announcement of the invasion where he stated that any country that attempted to get involved and stop his military plan would suffer consequences that history has never seen or something of that effect.
Many folks took this to be a threat of potential nuclear action.
However, according to Newsmax, a U.S. official has come out and stated that as of now, the country does not see an increased threat of nuclear action with regards to Russia.
When the official was asked if Russia nuclear forces were at a heightened state of alert, the official, who spoke on condition of anonymity, stated, “We don’t see an increased threat in that regard.”
Let’s hope this officials is correct on this. A lot of people around the world, especially in Ukraine, are very concerned about the current situation unfolding and the aggressive language from Russia.
Pray for Ukraine.
