UK, US Set To Slap Russia In Big Way Following Invasion Of Ukraine

Britain is all set to cut off Russian banks from the sterling markets and clearing payments, and the U.S. is going to be taking similar action concerning the dollar, according to Prime Minister Boris Johnson on Thursday.

“These powers will enable us totally to exclude Russian banks from the UK financial system, which is of course by far the largest in Europe, stopping them from accessing sterling and clearing payments through the UK,” Johnson went on to tell parliament.

“And with around half of Russia’s trade currently in US dollars and sterling, I’m pleased to tell the House that the United States is taking similar measures,” he continued.

This is likely just the first step in a serious of actions that are designed to put Russia back in its place after taking this horrendous action against the people of Ukraine.

Unfortunately, the leadership sitting in the White House right now is pathetically weak and is not likely to strike a bit of terror into a hardened individual like Russian President Vladimir Putin.

Once again, our nation has puny leaders in office and it’s taking a toll on the rest of the world. Our vote has consequences that go vastly beyond our own borders.

Remember back when Mitt Romney was running for office back in 2012 and stated that the biggest threat on the global stage was Russia and Obama and other Democrats laughed at him?

Looks like he was right.
